Your eyes are one of the most important parts of your health, providing you with not only the ability to see, but the ability to move, process information, and appreciate all that is around you. Which is why whether or not you have have known vision problems, getting an eye exam in Richton Park on a regular basis is important for your overall wellbeing. At Veld Vision Center, we provide the comprehensive eye exam services that you’re looking for, and serve adults, children, and patients with eye or other health complications alike.
When most people think of going to the eye doctor, the thing that comes to mind is vision testing. Vision testing is no doubt critical; less than perfect vision could affect everything ranging from psychological wellbeing to learning ability to safety, and at Veld Vision Center, we are committed to providing our patients with vision testing and vision correction services that they need.
However, we know that good eye health is about more than just being able to see – it’s also about seeing how well the eyes work together, testing for things like color blindness, and ensuring that a patient isn’t at risk of, or doesn’t have any symptoms of, any concerning eye complications like cataracts or glaucoma.
At Veld Vision Center, we provide a full range of eye exam services for our patients in and around Richton Park. If it has been awhile since you last went to the eye doctor, do not hesitate to schedule an appointment with our team today.
How often you need to have your eyes professionally examined by a licensed ophthalmologist depends on you. For children, an eye exam should be given once at birth, once at six months of age, when the child turns three, again when the child enters school, and once every couple of years at a minimum assuming the child does not have any vision problems or risk factors for vision problems. For children who do have vision problems or risk factors, we recommend eye exam services once per year.
Adults who are healthy, do not have a history of eye problems or vision correction services, and who are under age 40 probably only need to get their eyes checked every two to three years. However, if you have certain health complications that put you at an increased risk of eye complications, including diabetes, or are already using vision correction tools like contacts or eye glasses, or are age 40 or older, you should have your eyes checked at least once per year. When you become a patient at Veld Vision Center, we can help you to understand how often eye exam services are necessary for you and why.
Having your eyes checked on a routine basis shouldn’t be something you hesitate to invest in; being able to see, and knowing that you have healthy eyes, is a comforting feeling and is critical for longevity. To schedule an eye exam for yourself or a loved one, please contact Veld Vision Center today. We have been serving patients in Richton Park since 1990, and will provide you with the trusted eye examination services you’re looking. You can schedule an appointment today online or by phone.
