Dr. Paul A. Veld

Dr. Veld is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He went on to Illinois College of Optometry, earning his Doctor of Optometry in May, 1989. Dr. Veld opened the practice in Crete in March, 1990.

Dr. Veld is an affiliate of The Laser Center (TLC) where he co-manages for laser vision correction. Dr. Veld also treats various medical related issues of the eye including eye infections, corneal abrasions, foreign body removal, as well as treatment of glaucoma.

Dr. Veld resides in Crete and is an active member of Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana.

Dr. Jill Davids

Dr. Jill Davids graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL in 2000. Her graduate work was completed at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2004. Dr. Davids holds both an Illinois and Indiana license. Currently she attends Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana with her husband and daughters.

Mara Terpstra, Insurance and Office Manager

Mara has been with Veld Vision Center for 6 years. She brings a sense of unity and organization to our practice. Her friendly smile and her warm personality makes her a wonderful asset to our staff. Mara is an assistant manager and is in charge of filing insurance claims, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable.

Sarah Mattingly, Eyecare Specialist

Sarah graduated from Indiana University at the Gary campus with a certificate in Opticianry. She assists patients in choosing eyewear suitable to their lifestyle, eyeglass dispensing, pre-exam testing, and adjusting and repairing glasses. Sarah also works in our lab cutting and edging prescription lenses for glasses.

Sara Schromen, Eyecare Specialist

Sara has several years experience in the optical field. Sara oversees contact lens compliance and follow-through. You may see Sara in our dispensary assisting patients with frame and lens selection, adjustments and repairs, and contact lens training. Sara also assists the doctors in pre-exam testing.

Yolanda Esteviz, Receptionist

Yolanda is the first voice heard when patients call our office. She brings with her over several years of receptionist experience. Her friendly voice and warm smile make our patients feel right at home in our office. Yolanda also assists with billing and insurance.

Sue White, Eyecare Specialist

Sue is a life long Crete resident and brings to our practice excellent customer service skills. Sue assists patients with all aspects of dispensing, frame repairs and patient education. Sue also is the primary frame buyer and keeps our dispensary up-to-date with the latest in frame design and lens technology.
